Marlow is the size of bag that makes a carry-on unnecessary. It is cut from a single hide of vegetable-tanned leather and left unlined at the top so the bag folds down to nothing when it is empty, then opens out to a full weekend when it is not.

Vegetable-tanned leather develops a patina rather than wearing out. The grain will even out with use — that is the finish, not damage.
